Reboot: The Craft: 1996 Movie

So, I was browsing the internet the other day, just looking up stuff about the Salem Witch trials, when I clicked on a link to a page about Ipswich, Massachusetts. This led me looking up the 2006 movie The Covenant, which in and of itself led me to looking up the 1996 movie The Craft. It turns out that a reboot of The Craft is being released next month (October 27th, 2020) on Amazon Prime. According to the IMDB site, it is a sequel to the original 1996 movie, and is set 20 years after the original. I’m honestly a bit excited about the reboot, because the original movie was released when I was around 8 years old. I’ve seen the 1996 movie a few times when I was in my late teens/early 20s, and enjoyed it. One thing I’m not sure about, though, is that since I don’t have Amazon Prime, I might not be able to watch it. I have debated on upgrading my account, though, so who knows.

Either way, I’m a bit excited about the reboot.

Netflix Shows

Well, I have about three days left until the trip. We will be traveling for approximately 20 hours, with the longest flight being a 13-hour flight from LAX to Auckland. Last night I had the bright idea to download the first season of American Horror Story from Netflix. I plan on watching it whenever I’m on the plane.

While I have seen AHS: Hotel, I haven’t seen any of the others. Since this is the case, I will start from the beginning. It will be interesting to see how far along I can get through the series. Hopefully I can finish at least one or two seasons during the plane ride. I’m hoping to be able to watch some on the cruise, if I’m not too tired from doing other activities.

If you have any shows you’re hooked on, drop them in the comments for me to add to my list.

Dumbo

So, I’ve been on a little bit of a “Disney Film Kick” over the last week or so. It started with The Lion King this past Thursday, and continued with my mom and I watching the Live-Action version of Dumbo this past Monday. I don’t really remember much of the animated film, as I’d only watched it probably two or three times when I was little. From what I remember of it, though, it was pretty good.

Anyway, the Live-Action version was pretty good too. We did rent it through the TV, so there wasn’t really a need to go to the movie theater for this one. Another reason why we didn’t go to the theater is because it was already out of theaters by June anyway.

I would also recommend watching this movie, as it is a throwback to the original animated film. It’s also a fresh adaptation of the animated film, and is good for an introductory to the new generation of kids, as well as nostalgia for everyone who grew up on Disney films.

Suicide Squad

So, I’m watching Suicide Squad for the second time. It’s probably my only favorite DC Comics movie, seeing as how it’s really the only one from the DC Universe I’ve seen. It was filmed in 2016. I watched it about a year later, and loved it.

It has some songs I grew up with, and some new ones that I’ve learned to love. My favorite song from the movie is “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots. This movie was my

RENT

How do you measure a year in the life?
–Seasons of Love, RENT

So, I just saw the live recording of RENT that was on TV on Sunday, January 27th. It was interesting. I’ve seen the original musical back in 2005 (the DVD version), as well as a couple adaptions since then. This recording is interesting, as it’s similar to the musical, but with songs I haven’t heard before.

There’s a couple of songs I like from the musical, mainly Seasons of Love, Tango:
